The Luminous Project | A Naperville Portrait Experience That Celebrates Real Women

You know the women who carry strength so naturally, they don’t even realize they’re doing it?

That’s why I started The Luminous Project.

It’s easy to spend years avoiding the camera.
To put yourself at the bottom of the list.
To believe you need to change something before you're worthy of being seen.

But the truth is, you don’t need to change a thing.
You already carry light.
This project is about helping you see it.

Spotlight: Michelle Rae Sobi

One of the most powerful sessions in this round of The Luminous Project was with Michelle Rae Sobi, a woman whose presence feels both grounded and luminous the moment she walks into the room.

Michelle is a seasoned yoga educator with over a decade of experience and the founder of Edge Yoga School. As an E-RYT 500 instructor, she’s not only dedicated to the practice of mindfulness and movement, she’s committed to passing it on, empowering the next generation of yoga teachers with wisdom, intention, and heart.

Her shoot was a beautiful reflection of what this project is all about: space to exhale, show up fully, and be seen. With professional styling by Zazú Salons, and make up by Christy Swain, Michelle’s natural radiance shined through effortlessly, and the studio was filled with laughter, ease, and purpose.

Photographing Michelle was a reminder that leadership doesn’t always look loud…it often shows up quietly, through presence, grace, and the way we uplift others.

What is The Luminous Project?

The Luminous Project is a portrait experience for women of all backgrounds and life stages.
No milestones required. Just you, exactly as you are.

This isn’t about glamming you up or turning you into someone else.
It’s not reserved for people who love being in front of the camera.
It’s especially for the ones who are always behind it.
The ones who haven’t had a moment to simply exist and be seen.

Why it matters

Women are holding so much.
Families, careers, emotions, stories, expectations.
Most of the time, we’re doing it quietly.

We don’t often get credit for the things we carry, and even less often do we pause to acknowledge them ourselves.

This experience is meant to do that.
To create a space where you feel safe, celebrated, and reminded of the light you’ve always had.

You don’t need a reason to be photographed.
You are the reason.

Round 2 is Coming

When I first launched The Luminous Project, I thought it would be a one-time thing.

But more than 50 incredible women have already said yes, and it’s clear this project has taken on a life of its own.

So I’m opening Round 2 of The Luminous Project.

This next round is your opportunity to pause, reflect, and step into who you’re becoming—surrounded by community, support, and intentional growth.

If that resonates with you, or if someone immediately comes to mind as you’re reading this, we’d love to hear from you.
You can nominate a friend, a sister, a coworker, or reach out for yourself.

Spots will be limited, so I’m opening a VIP waitlist for early access.

Join the Waitlist to be the first to know when doors open.
